VIDEO INSTALLATIONS

This is a mock-up of a site-specific installation that consists of projected video on layered, translucent scrims and includes references to life as it interacts with bodies of water—both human and other.

Abstracted forms appear, merge, and fade, punctuated with moments of recognition. Sound will serve as a sculptural element, adding roundness and depth to the experience through chance operations. Depending on viewer placement and timing, each experience will be unique.

As I continue to explore visceral responses to loss through Hydrocene Theory, a transformative eco-aesthetic framework that moves beyond anthropocentric, neo-colonial, and destructive views of water. Expanding my grief and mourning research, this project visually intertwines human and non-human bodies with diverse water sources, illustrating our kinship. This work urges viewers to see water not as a commodity but as the primordial element from which we are born and inextricably connected.
