DINNER FOR TWO LEFTOVERS | FIRE BOWLS

In my Dinner for Two Leftovers installation project, the allusion to domestic grief is an allegory for broader cultural grieving over losses experienced by war and climate change. Instead of traditional place settings, two large bowls of water serve as symbolic stand-ins. Immersed in the bowls of water are cell phones, each displaying an image of fire.

The unnaturally long table and the presence of these elements evoke the overwhelming disconnection felt in the depths of grief. The phones remain out of reach, symbolizing a longing for connection, yet the powerful natural forces of water and fire keep them separated, intensifying the sense of isolation.
